In the summer of 2024, Smartsys was commissioned to deliver a complete, enterprise-grade network solution for Goldsborough Manor, a newly built luxury care home in Strensall, York, developed by Walter Thompson on behalf of the Crown Care Group. With 62 high-specification en-suite bedrooms and extensive communal facilities, the care home required a powerful and reliable Wi-Fi network to meet the evolving expectations of residents, staff, and UK regulatory bodies.

Scope of Work
– CAT6 Structured Cabling: Professionally terminated throughout the property to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and flexibility.
– UniFi Wi-Fi 6 Access Points: Deployment of 20 high-performance Wi-Fi 6 APs to guarantee seamless, high-speed wireless coverage.
– UniFi Dream Machine: Serving as the central controller, firewall, and router for network management and security, plus remote visibility.
– Network Segmentation: VLAN-based segmentation to isolate resident and staff traffic.
– Comms Cabinet: Fully labelled and professionally installed cabinet housing all networking equipment.
